Greek characters

To get Greek characters on your screen, you need to have the browser Netscape Communicator 4 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 (or higher) installed on your machine. In case of Netscape Communicator, you must have additionally the TrueType font HellasArial. By default, you will find this on any machine set up to run Windows with Greek characters. You also must have activated the use of Style Sheets (Edit/Preferences/Advanced) in your browser, otherwise you won't see Greek characters.
If you have e.g. an US English Windows operating system, you will have to download the fonts from the Web. See also the Internet Hellenic Resource Center for more general information about writing and reading Greek. You may also visit other sites about this theme.
