Palazzo Bellini, the seat of Comacchio’s Aldermanry of Culture and Library, will house the museum dedicated to the Comacchio shipwreck. The display area in which the rich collection of artefacts recovered on board the vessel will be arranged, will be completed by the spring of 1999.
The hull instead will be exhibited in the adjoining pavilion,
which currently is utilised as a conservation laboratory.
Once the conservation treatment has been completed, the vessel will be
protected from the external environment by a transparent air-tight
covering. This will allow visitors to follow each phase of the
reconstruction, guaranteeing the required climatic conditions for the
conservation of the timber structures.
